The Dukes of Hazzard: Then and Now – 35 Years Later

Boss Hogg & McQuaid Meeting on Bridge (real name: Alcovy Road Bridge)
Although this bridge looks nothing like it did back in 1979, this is the filming location where Boss Hogg met McQuaid and his partner to discuss tracking down Mary Kaye and the money she stole.

At the time of filming, the Alcovy Road Bridge was a Pratt truss bridge with a wooden deck that spanned 225 feet over the Alcovy River. It was a unique looking bridge. In 1985, the wood-and-steel combination bridge was updated to an all concrete bridge.

Notice the bridge on the right side of the photo. This is the Alcovy Trestle Bridge and can be seen briefly in the background during the meeting between Boss Hogg and McQuaid. There is a lot of history behind this bridge, but since it’s outside the scope of this blog post I’ll let you Google it to learn more.
