Farmers & Merchants Bank
This is the bank Melanie visits to make a withdrawal from her personal bank account and learns that her name is still on the joint account with Jake. Unfortunately, the bank was closed when we arrived so we were unable to take photos of the inside. However, we did manage to snap a few photos from the outside.
Aside from the blue carpet and a few new decorations, the interior of the bank looks exactly the same as it did in the movie. Even the gold clock hanging on the wall behind Dorothea in the scene is still ticking today.
Side note: Although this was a short scene and didn’t take very long to shoot, it had to be shot on a Saturday since business was booming during the week. The scene was shot on December 1, 2001.
