Sweet Home Alabama: Then and Now – 12 Years Later

Pigeon Creek Post Office
In this scene Melanie mails the divorce papers to her attorney, receives the address to the Carmichael Plantation, and is reminded that she is a catfish thief.

The movie capture below was taken from the scene when Melanie and Bobby Ray were standing in the middle of town talking.

Currently, this space is being used for the Crawfordville Flea Market, but it was closed while we were visiting so we were unable to take pictures inside. However, here’s a shot of the exterior.

Although the color of the building has changed since filming, the green window blinds are still hanging today. These blinds can also be seen in the two aforementioned scenes above. Lastly, the design work on the facade of the building, as well as the vents located at the bottom, confirm that this was the set used for the Pigeon Creek Post Office. Just an FYI, the real post office is located across the street, down the road a few hundred feet.
